NEWS - 224 new graphic colours

Pantone Solid Chips is an absolute must-have colour guide for all designers, printers and other people working with colours.

In total, there are 2.359 colours. All colours are chromatically arranged and are therefore easy to find. The set consists of two books where each color is shown on a coated and an uncoated paper. There are six small stamps of each color. The stamps are perforated and removable. This gives you the opportunity to combine the colours, to make moodboards, to send colours samples to your suppliers etc.

It is possible to purchase new, loose sheets when your stamps have been used. Pantone Solid Chips is a working tool that ensures you an easy communication between the design department and the printing house.

With Pantone's expansion of the new graphic colors in the Matching System®-collection, released in January 2023, Pantone has also changed the recipe in the base ink. The 224 new Pantone colors fill the gaps in the Matching System color scale with more dark neutral, green, blue and violet colors, based on comments and feedback from Pantone's many users.

Remember! Pantone's recommendation is to replace fans/guides every 12-18 months!

Please note: the mottled appearance of the uncoated guide is not a quality issue. In fact, it was designed this way. In reality, printing with lithographic ink on uncoated paper is very challenging. The uncoated guides are meant to show the designer what to expect, so generally they look faded and noisy. Most people think that printing on uncoated paper gives poor results because the ink sinks into the paper, but this is not the case. The ink does not stick to the uncoated sheet as the surface is not smooth.
